Title:
Extrusion Operator
Night shift - 6:00pm to 6:00am
Summary/Objective
This position reports to the Production Supervisor and will set up and operate equipment that is used in the manufacturing of food products.
Essential Functions

- Operates food extrusion equipment at required parameters including starting and stopping equipment under normal and emergency situations
- Maintains the mixers or extruders and dryers at the established parameters to produce product to customer specification
- Monitors, adjusts and records product measurements to meet specifications
- Alert Supervisor and maintenance personnel of any problems that may arise
- Make machine adjustments as necessary to produce products that meet company/customer specifications
- Monitors the production equipment for proper operating parameters, and possible failures
- Make sure all materials are loaded into the machine in a quick, efficient manner so that downtime is limited
- Count and record rejected products and scrap material
- Maintains Quality Control paperwork as specified
- Complete production reports
- Keep the machine and work area clean during the shift
- Performs all other miscellaneous duties as directed by Management
Competencies
- Ability to read, write and interpret documents
- Basic math skills required
- Must have basic computer skills / knowledge
- Ability to communicate read and write in English in order to understand and follow work, GMP and safety instructions
- Must be able to work any day and/or shift including weekends and holidays
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

This is a full-time nonexempt position
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of food manufacturing environment preferred
