What You Will Do
Plans and administers assigned respiratory care functions and duties.
Required Qualifications
- Other Graduate of a CoARC accredited respiratory therapy program
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
- The National Board of Respiratory Care REQUIRED
- California Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCP)
- Respiratory Care Board of CA REQUIRED
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare)
- American Heart Association REQUIRED
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's Degree Related field
- 1 Year Respiratory Care experience
- ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- American Heart Association PREFERRED
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) PREFERRED
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) PREFERRED
Essential Functions
- Communication
Consistently updates IPOC/IPER once per shift.
Consults other departments as appropriate to provide for and interdisciplinary approach to the patient's needs.
Attends patient care rounds.
- Documentation
Maintains patient records as per department guidelines.
Enters patient charges/credits as directed with specified time frame.
Point of care documentation.
- Quality
Considers patient safety, age, cultural; psychosocial/physical needs of patients and families when providing care.
Provides explanation to patient and family prior to administering care and answers questions.
Perform and adheres to department established patient care assessment and / or patient driven protocol.
Identifies inappropriate care and follows through with appropriate recommendations.
Participates in orientation of new staff / students.
- Time management
Accepts additional assignments willingly.
Demonstrates ability to adapt to changing work loads with adherence to all department rules and guidelines of care. (Answering pages timely)
Demonstrates ability to organize, prioritize and complete assignment in timely manner including taking breaks / lunch.
