- Associate degree in Health Science or an equivalent combination of related education and experience is necessary.
- Minimum 1 year of directly related experience in clinical research and clinical trials is necessary. (Please review SoCRAs Definition of a Clinical Research Professional for qualifying experience prior to applying.) or An advanced degree in a health-related areas such as: Health Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, Public Health, Health Care Administration, Clinical Research Administration, Social Work, Psychology, Epidemiology, Foreign MD. or Minimum 3 years of human subject experience (clinical, lab or health regulations) such as related patient care, related community health and wellness, related clinical information, and research.
- High school diploma or GED is necessary.
- Interest in clinical health research
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Superb interpersonal skills, comfortable speaking with healthcare providers and patients and working independently and as a member of a research team
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in both verbal and written form
- Ability to communicate research study details clearly over the phone
- Bachelors degree in Health Science or an equivalent combination of related education and experience is desirable.

Summary
The Department of Surgery, Section of Thoracic Surgery is seeking a Clinical Research Technician / Assistant to help with recruitment and retention of study participants in a hospital and clinical setting. This includes working alongside and effectively communicating with nurses, physicians, and other hospital or clinical staff. The CRT will be responsible for research subject enrollment, screening potential research participants, following up with participants, and electronic data entry. The CRT will also be responsible for helping the Sections Project Manager manage day-to-day tasks.

Background Screening
