**Associate Buyer**

****Position Description****

**Job Summary**

The Associate Buyer is responsible for all facets of procuring assigned materials. This position interacts with functions across the company in order to service internal customers, making sure that materials are shipped according to the schedule and delivered on time. This position will also participate in projects and special assignments as required.

**Essential Functions**

Place purchase orders with local and global vendors following the negotiated terms

Manage the open orders report including the current ERP

Monitor suppliers on time delivery KPI (OTD - key performance indicator)

Daily update the purchase orders with the current expected supplier ship dates & estimated dock delivery dates. Closely follow up all shipments and materials in transit, communicates to Supply Chain team regarding deliveries and delays. Check the shipping documents accuracy (Commercial Invoice and Packing list)

Keep the vendors files updated with all the relevant information (inspection request, proforma invoice, )

**Required Qualifications**

**Education:**

Bachelor's Degree - Business, Supply Chain or Operations Management; Preferred.

High School Diploma or Equivalent; Required.

**Experience:**

2+ years experience - Purchasing/Account Management experience; Required.

2+ years experience - Manufacturing experience; Required.

1+ years experience - Supply Agreement/Contract Negotiations; Preferred.

**Practical/Technical Knowledge:**

Computer skills necessary to fulfill requirement of position, including but not limited to MSOffice products, QAD, etc. Must be very proficient in Excel

Mathematical and problem solving skills necessary to fulfill position requirements

Demonstrated abilities in communication (both verbal an written), organization, and persuasio are essential; summarizing and presenting data.

Negotiation and project management skills.
