    Remote-first with work in customer facilities as needed. Up to 25% regional travel for those in or within 45 – 60 minutes of RTP/Raleigh, North Carolina. Preference will be given to candidates based in Raleigh and surrounding areas. Relocation assistance available for highly qualified candidates.

    On a typical day you will:
    Coordinate a team of engineers and, at times, work independently to ensure timely project execution
    Assist in technical issues related to the delivery of projects
    Assist sales team with job estimating and proposal processes
    Mentor Engineers during start up and execution of projects
    Monitor and maintain project budgets in coordination with Project Manager
    Participate in client technical meetings
    Help coordinate all aspects of project phases.
    Interface with customers during technical discussions, sales meetings and relationship building, providing knowledge and insight to drive implementation of a successful solution
    Identify opportunities for new projects with existing customers or engage new customers on your own or with sales team Lead the entire lifecycle of the project right from walkthroughs, qualifications, implementation, and cost of ownership Be responsible for the resource management of the team, resource planning and task assignment
    Track progress on the tasks delegated to the members of the team and work with the Project manager for tracking tasks to schedule them
    Execute and support FATs or onsite SATs and start-up and commissioning activities
    Support updates for customer's life-cycle documentation as it relates to individual projects
    We are looking for someone with a solid background in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical preferred) and at least 10 years of overall technical experience in the process control industry, with at least five years in a Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences


    Requirements:
    Minimum of 10+ years of experience in process controls and systems integration
    B.S. in an Engineering discipline or other related field or equivalent work experience and training
    Experience with various unit operations in a biomanufacturing setting, including a mix of the following: upstream, recovery, downstream purification, clean utilities generation/distribution, filling/finishing, and/or packaging/warehouse logistics
    Strong experience with configuring, programming, and networking PLCs and DCS controllers (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, ABB, Emerson DeltaV)
    Proficiency with ISA-88 standard and batch programming

    Proficiency programming, configuring, and networking with SCADA and DCS software such as Aveva software, GE iFix, Emerson DeltaV, ABB 800xA, Siemens PCS.

    Experience configuring, programming, and networking information systems including historians and databases
    Knowledge of automation/control system networking architecture, thin client configuration and management
    Experience configuring, programming, and networking HMIs and developing HMI graphics in accordance with ISA-101 standard
    Experience authoring or editing documentation in a regulated industry environment– preferably experienced in GAMP, and common pharmaceutical/Life-Sciences validation practices
    Experience with customer relationship management is a MUST
    Thrive in a fast-paced agile work environment which requires proactiveness and good communication skills to keep your teammates and clients up to date

    The ideal candidate will have:
    BS in Engineering or relevant Technology focused degree
    A controls/automation engineer, with a minimum of 10+ years of overall experience in Process Control / Automation
    A minimum of 5+ years of pharmaceutical industry/operating facility experience
    Experience in consulting Front-End Loading (FEL) or system integration is a plus
    Experience with client service management is a plus
    Strong experience with technical management of projects and execution
    Experience supporting peer development through mentoring and coaching activities
    Experience with MES systems, such as Aveva MES or PAS-X is a plus.
