To provide health services for the Brazos County Juvenile Services Department.

Required:
Associate's degree in Nursing, plus one year of experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Required:
The Nurse must have a current certification as Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).
Valid Texas driver's license with appropriate liability auto insurance coverage (Driver's license requirements must be met within 30 days if employee recently moved from another state).

Typical:
Duties require daily standing, walking, sitting, talking and listening; frequent use of hands and/or fingers to grasp, handle, pick-up, pinch, type or feel; frequent reaching with hands or arms and lifting of objects over 50 pounds; close vision, distance vision, ability to distinguish color, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Typical:
Must have working knowledge of first aid, pharmacology, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation; and have the ability to administer injections.
The Nurse must have the ability to work effectively with children, staff, and the general public, the ability to respond effectively and calmly in emergency situations requiring medical judgments and decisions, the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and must possess basic computer knowledge and competence.
