The responsibilities of the Mental Health Specialist include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
  • Monitor patient vitals
  • Facilitate therapeutic CBT group sessions
  • Provide crisis intervention
  • Stabilize and redirect patients
  • 15 minute rounding throughout the unit to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
  • Assure compliance with applicable laws pertaining to behavior health inpatient care
  • Maintain all patient documentation
  • Includes assisting patients in Activities of Daily Living (bathing, shaving, toileting, etc.)

Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology preferred
  • 1 year of experience working in an acute psychiatric setting
  • CPI trained and certified
  • CPR certified
  • Working knowledge of general and psychoeducation group therapy, therapeutic relationships, and age specific growth and development

  • 12 hour shift

Experience:

Mental Health Specialist: 1 year (required)


License/Certification:
