    Job SummaryLiaise with various departments on stage layouts, instrument setups, and technical requirements for rehearsals and performances.
  • Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of audio, lighting, and video equipment in concert hall and other campus venues.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders to plan and execute events, ensuring alignment with academic, artistic, and institutional priorities.
  • Coordinate technical requirements for performances and events, including audiovisual equipment, lighting, sound systems, and stage setups.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to performers, presenters, and event organizers, troubleshooting issues and ensuring smooth execution of events.
  • Manage technical aspects of events, including sound and video quality, from various positions, including the catwalk above the theater.
  • Coordinate and supervise the installation, dismantling, and operation of audio and video recording equipment.
  • Record audio and video of events, ensuring highquality captures for archiving or online posting.
  • Process and edit recorded materials for archival purposes or digital distribution.
  • Conduct regular checks and maintenance of audio, lighting, and video systems to guarantee reliable and topnotch performance.
  • Train and lead a team of student assistants, adhering to strict safety protocols, especially when working at heights.
  • Manage scheduling for events, particularly during evenings and weekends, across various venues.
  • Communicate scheduling details and logístical requirements to event organizers, performers, and support staff.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in audio, video, and recording to enhance event production quality.
  • Act as a liaison with college administration, providing updates on technical activities, equipment needs, and advancements related to concert hall and performance venues.
  • As a member of the larger Technical Events team, provide additional technical support, including video, audio, lighting, setup, and teardown, for other campus events as necessary.

Pay and Benefits:

  • The salary range for this position is expected to be: $67,750 (minimum) $77,200 (maximum)

Education/Skills Requirements

  • Required:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Audio Engineering, Sound Design, Video Production, or related field.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with various teams and clients.
  • Ability to work under pressure, with efficient problemsolving skills during live events.
  • Experience working at heights, with a strong emphasis on safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of technical production requirements for live performances, including audiovisual equipment, stage management, and theatrical lighting.
  • Proficiency in event management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong management and planning skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate multiple events, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.

Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents

  • Required:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in audio and video engineering, recording, and editing.
  • Proficiency in a wide range of audio and video equipment, software, and digital editing tools.
  • Deep understanding of acoustics, sound engineering, video production, and recording techniques.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends as required by the event schedule.
  • Please note that as part of the preemployment process, we will be conducting reference checks, including contacting current or former supervisors, to verify employment history and performance.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in live performances, preferably in a live event or theatrical setting.
  • Prior experience using Pro Tools audio recording system.

Standard Work Days and Hours

  • 40 hours/week, 43 weeks/year (0.83 FTE)
  • This is a 10month position working fulltime through the academic year (i.e., August 15th
  • June 15th).
  • Required to work evenings and weekend hours to support events production and performances on campus throughout the academic year. This is an exempt position requiring the time commitment necessary to satisfactorily complete all job requirements.
