Duties:


  • Providing guidance on federal privacy policy and ensuring the Agency complies with privacy guidelines. Participates in updating internal privacy policies and guidance to meet the needs of USCIS.
  • Assess privacy risks associated with agency programs and operations and serving as the principle pointofcontact for compliancerelated issues and provide detail analysis and recommendation for issues found.
  • Reviews privacy compliance documentations (e.g. PTAs, PIAs, SORNs), oversee privacy compliance assessments, information sharing requirements, and outreach and training.
  • Identifying and taking steps to prevent potential situations that could result in unpleasant confrontations. Manages and resolves conflicts, and disagreements in a positive and constructive manner to minimize negative impact.
  • Planning, assigning, and reviewing work products of subordinates.
  • Establishing guidelines, performance expectations, and evaluating work performance and providing feedback to others on their performance.
  • Ensuring that staff are appropriately selected, utilized, and developed, and that they are treated in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Improve the efficiency and quality of the work performed by subordinates.
  • Ensuring staff are properly trained and receive proper training and feed back in a timely manner.

Supervisory/Managerial Probationary Period:
You may be required to serve a twelve-month probationary period upon appointment to this position.

You may also be required to complete an appropriate supervisory training course within one year of assignment to this position.

GS-15: You qualify at the GS-15 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position.

You must have experience performing the following duties:

  • Managing compliance functions, including reviews of privacy impact assessments and risk management practices.
  • Directing the development of privacy guidelines within a program office or directorate.
  • Performing liaison functions with highranking officials, top level executives, and boards/committees to advise on and review specific Privacy Act program initiatives.
