    Travel Advisor
    Discovering the World- One Member at a Time
    A passion for travel is what draws many to this field, but to excel as a Travel Agent, one must also be enthusiastic about the opportunities it offers to connect history, cultures, and cuisine. Successful Travel Agents possess a strong sales mindset, excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail, ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, proven proficiency in using computers and various software, good written and verbal communication skills, and a willingness to continuously learn and grow.
    • Sell international and domestic travel packages, including cruises, land packages, itineraries, airfare, car rentals, and accommodations
    • Share knowledge and insights gained from personal experiences or educational trips
    • Establish long-lasting relationships with members, generate referrals, and cultivate repeat business
    • Make suitable recommendations to ensure an exceptional trip experience tailored to member expectations
    • Cross-sell related products to enhance the travel experience, such as the AAA Member Rewards Credit Card and identity theft protection services
    For the right candidate, this role can lead to future leadership opportunities. Advancement is based on performance evaluations in sales, customer service, administration, operations, upselling, cross-selling, and goal achievement, with potential to transition into managerial roles.

    Required / Preferred Skills
    • High school diploma required, preferably a 2 or 4-year college degree
    • Passing a comprehensive background check and drug screening
    • At least 2 years of successful retail sales, banking, or leisure travel agency experience preferred
    Qualifications
    • Passion for travel beyond a hobby or mere interest
    • Availability to work weekends and evenings to meet goals
    • Completion of Travel Agent Trainee program, involving some travel for training
    • Driven by sales targets and goal surpassing
    • Proficient in using computers, various systems, web browsers, Microsoft Office, and typing speed of at least 30WPM
    • Strong organizational skills and comfort with paperwork
