Purpose Statement/Position Summary:

Quality Coordinator II (Data and Analytics - ACS NSQIP) is responsible for leading quality /performance improvement initiatives impacting core clinical processes and patient care functions.

With others in the Quality Improvement department, works collaboratively with managers and physicians to identify and enhance clinical issues that produce quantitative and qualitative results for internal and external customers.

Performance outcome deliverables include but are not limited to quality, safety and process improvement. Performs day-to-day Quality Improvement Activities in accordance with accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational performance improvement. Supports the Quality and Safety Dashboard, and develops audit tools.


This Quality Coordinator will serve as a site coordinator for American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS NSQIP).


Responsibilities of this coordinator include:

  • Performing clinical data abstraction for perioperative patients
  • Performing followups for participating patients via phone calls or letters
  • Validating and submitting NSQIP data
  • Analyzing and reviewing NSQIP Semi-Annual Report (SAR) with Surgical Performance Improvement Committee and perioperative leaders
  • Leading quality/performance improvement initiatives impacting core clinical processes and patient care functions
  • Creating and maintaining dashboards pertaining to quality outcomes and process metrics for periop services

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: 3+ years' experience related to Quality Improvement. 2+ years of nursing or other clinical experience strongly preferred, Peri-Operative experience preferred. Combination of work experience in a hospital and data analysis experience. Experience working with physicians and other health care professionals. Experience in Oracle Cerner EMR highly preferred. Experience leading or facilitating projects and initiatives strongly preferred.


Education/Licensure/Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in health care or related field. Master's Preferred. NSQIP SCR certification highly preferred.
