RER Solutions, Inc., is accepting resumes for a
Media Relations Manager to join our workforce. The
Media Relations Manager will provide onsite and remote federal program leadership.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the media relations team in executing communications strategies and campaigns, including scheduling, prepping, staffing, and managing media engagements
  • Manage relationships with members of the media and proactively develop new relationships
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders for external storytelling and opportunities to spotlight narratives to the media
  • Develop materials intended for the media, such as story ideas, talking points, pitches, and background resources
  • Support proactive communications related to a range of issues, including supporting announcements, speaking engagements, deal press moments in real time, and evolving situations
  • Collaborate with senior leaders, respond to changing priorities, and adapt writing styles to meet the needs of audiences at various levels
  • Consistently and reliably foster a spirit of collaboration by showing initiative, willingness to help others, and commitment to team goals

Requirements:


  • Minimum of US Citizenship required to obtain clientissued Public Trust
  • 810 years of experience working in communications in public relations agencies, on political campaigns, or for a government organization
  • Willingness to travel (~10% of time)
  • Experience with translating technical concepts to functional audiences
  • Experience with writing newsletters, articles, social media, and internal organization communications
  • Possess solid creative writing, editing, and proofreading skills, as well as demonstrated expertise or interest in energy and climate
  • Strongly preferred to have established relationships with energy/environment/climate reporters, particularly in the DC area
  • Ability to be a proactive selfstarter and multitask in a fastpaced environment
  • Displays sound professional judgment and a high degree of discretion, ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Demonstrated project management, time management, and organizational skills
  • General knowledge of and passion for clean energy and climate change policy
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and an understanding of fundamental business writing
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Products (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in a related field
