    Description
    The

    Stock Loan Analyst

    plays a pivotal role in supporting our institutional trade desks.

    This position involves providing operational assistance to the Business Unit (BU) and clients directly on borrow/lending comparison, trade matching, collateralization, and break research.

    The role includes

    providing settlement status to clients intra-day for Equity and Bond trades , coordinating with internal counterparts to

    confirm settlement status

    for all current-day transactions between MLPFS and MLI and street counterparts. Additionally, this role requires interaction with the Front Office Business Unit and other internal support departments such as

    Trade Processing, Settlement, Corporate Actions, and Operations Risk Management.


    This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong communication and problem-solving skills, capable of working in a fast-paced environment and delivering accurate results within tight deadlines.

    Requirements

    Trade Support and/or Global Markets, Financial Services experience.
    Basic Excel knowledge.
    High level of attention to detail.
    Ability to manage multiple priorities and multitask.
    Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
    Ability to meet tight deadlines.
    Ability and willingness to continuously learn on the job.
    Ability to problem-solve and take ownership of process improvements.
    Ability to work in a team environment.
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with various stakeholders.

    Responsibilities

    Process mark-to-markets.
    Process returns and new borrows.
    Move collateral to and from agent lenders/banks.
    Provide status of all trades for clients currently unaffirmed by the contra party.
    Provide detailed status of all failing trades and conduct research regarding reclaims, erroneous trade bookings, and settlements.
    Perform internal reconciliation and fail research of all broker-to-broker transactions.
    Follow up with clients/contra brokers directly to resolve aged fails.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Expert Excel knowledge.
    Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or similar major preferred.
    Basic understanding of and/or experience in the financial services industry.
