We are looking for a UX Researcher to join our Responsible AI User Research practice at SAP Design.
We are committed to helping teams to design for the global diversity of human needs, which requires us to deeply understand the behaviors of the people behind them.
As a researcher on this team you will tackle some of the most complex challenges to gain deeper insights into how people interact with emerging technologies like AI and the world around them.
You will use a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods to accomplish our goals, including surveys, participatory research, field studies, 1:1 interviews, and usability tests.

UX Researcher, Responsibilities
- Work closely with SAP Business AI teams to identify research needs around AI
- Design and conduct research using a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods which includes bringing multiple data sources together
- Ensure that all research is done inclusively partnering with diverse perspectives to improve the user experience for everyone
- Explore user behaviors and motivations by conducting primary research such as interviews, diary studies, participatory workshops, concept explorations, surveys and usability testing
- Proactively seek guidance to manage competing priorities and help your team focus on the most critical learning opportunities
- Create research strategies and plans that leverage existing data and complement additional research that you need to execute
- Communicate results and illustrate suggestions in compelling and creative ways
- You'll work with stakeholders across functions and levels and have impact at all stages of product development
- Generate insights that both fuel ideation, evaluate designs and improve the AI UX
- Demonstrate the ability to generate insights about how these systems impact the user experience of using our products across multiple dimensions
- Stay uptodate on the latest trends in AI and UX
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Information Science, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Behavioral Science, Social Sciences, or related field AND 2+ years User Experience Research experience and/or product development experience or related experience in research
- OR Master's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Communications, Information Science, Information Architecture, User Experience Design, Behavioral Science, Social Sciences, or related field AND 1+ years User Experience Research experience and/or product development experience or related experience in research
- OR equivalent experience.
Preferred qualifications:
- Handson research and/or product planning experience, with demonstrated skill in collecting and analyzing human behavioral data to improve plans and UX in a technology industry setting
- Experience impacting both product direction and detailed experience design including on products leveraging AI and large language models (LLMs)
- 1+ years relevant domain experience within the technology sector
- 1+ years experience in research methods impacting both product direction and detailed experience design.
