Summary:

Quality Control Inspectors performs incoming, in-process, and production inspection of the product to ensure compliance with approved specifications as needed.

Quality control inspectors may work from various locations, from assembly to quality control departments. This may involve long hours of standing at a time, depending on the location.


Role and Responsibilities:

• Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming technical specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
• Inspects inprocess production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating required adjustments to the production supervisor.
• Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements and calling for repairs.
• Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes rework and waste and inputs data into a quality database utilizing computers.
• Promote and maintain safe, clean work environment practices within the inspection and Packaging work center.
• Following production plans and priorities to meet customer demands.
• Ensuring all fabrication Traveler Work Orders and inspection log sheets are filled out to procedures and maintained.

Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Quality control experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Teams
• Knowledge and understanding of how to use calipers, depth gages, micrometers, at a minimum.
• Quality and safety oriented
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as GD&T, engineering drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Physical Requirements:

• Work will be performed primarily in a manufacturing environment.
• May require extended periods of sitting.
• Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes.
• Position also requires the employee to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must possess a high level of dexterity to perform tasks related to inspecting small parts as needed.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Many sharp parts. Proper safety equipment must be worn, such as protective gloves and safety glasses.
