Summary:
Quality Control Inspectors performs incoming, in-process, and production inspection of the product to ensure compliance with approved specifications as needed.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming technical specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
- Inspects inprocess production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating required adjustments to the production supervisor.
- Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements and calling for repairs.
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes rework and waste and inputs data into a quality database utilizing computers.
- Promote and maintain safe, clean work environment practices within the inspection and Packaging work center.
- Following production plans and priorities to meet customer demands.
- Ensuring all fabrication Traveler Work Orders and inspection log sheets are filled out to procedures and maintained.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Quality control experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Teams
- Knowledge and understanding of how to use calipers, depth gages, micrometers, at a minimum.
- Quality and safety oriented
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as GD&T, engineering drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Physical Requirements:
- Work will be performed primarily in a manufacturing environment.
- May require extended periods of sitting.
- Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes.
- Position also requires the employee to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must possess a high level of dexterity to perform tasks related to inspecting small parts as needed.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Many sharp parts. Proper safety equipment must be worn, such as protective gloves and safety glasses.
