Description

As the Director of Transportation, you will be responsible for developing and implementing transportation strategies, ensuring efficient and cost-effective transportation services, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.

• Performs routine duties independently in accordance with established and general policies and procedures requiring regular interpretation.
• Must use good judgment when unforeseen situations such as accidents arise and limit disruptions so that clients arrive safely to their scheduled appointment.
• Reports emergency situations and accidents to Senior Management. Review Incident Report for accuracy and keep on file.
• Ability to keep calm in a busy environment to rectify issues and efficiently decide the safest course of action.
• Ability to anticipate potential problems, such as allowing extra time during stormy weather.
• Knowledge of transportation software(s), maps and areas of the city to track and organize driver routes effectively.
• Maintain great and constant communication with the dispatcher to ensure the trip is going as planned.
• Ability to assess patterns for inefficiencies in the department and provide solutions to problems. Be aware and document appointment cancellation reasons and work to minimize cancellations.
• Document patient grievances and reprimand employees if necessary.
• Always putting patient necessities first, distributing resources effectively to obtain patient satisfaction.
• The Transportation Director will work as part of a team to reach transportation benchmarks for Transportation Services.
• Oversee the transportation schedule for each day and/or week and inform drivers of their assignments for the day and/or week.
• Maintain a spreadsheet with the information of all company vehicles, including those not used for transporting patients.
• Perform an inspection of each vehicle weekly, documenting the status of the vehicle in terms of cleanness, any big or small damages.
• Involved in the Hiring and Firing process of his staff.
• Direct supervision of Transportation Dispatchers and Drivers. Reprimand employees as needed.
• Monitor employee hours and work in conjunction with the dispatchers on ways to minimize unnecessary overtime.
• Responsible for the review and approval of employee hours and their benefits, such as sick days, vacation, etc.
• Create departmental reports as instructed by Senior Management.
• Perform other related or nonrelated tasks as assigned Senior Management.
