Treatment Nurse Job Qualifications**:


  • Must have current and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Wisconsin.
  • Must have Wound Care certification.

Treatment Nurse Job Overview:


The primary purpose of the Treatment Nurse is to deliver quality wound care and preventative measures to maintain the skin integrity of our facility residents on the weekends.

All wound care treatment will be in compliance with applicable federal and state guidelines and established policies and procedures. The Treatment Nurse will report to and receives general direction from the Director of Nursing.


Treatment Nurse Job Duties:


  • Administer treatments and procedures in accordance with the physician's orders.
  • Ensure that residents are medicated prior to treatments when appropriate
  • Observe and document resident's response to treatment at a minimum weekly and as needed. Ensure proper disposal of treatment supplies.
  • Ensure adequate levels of treatment ointments, supplies and equipment are available at all times. Report any needs to the Director of Nursing.
  • Handle any emergency situations in a prompt, precise and professional manner.
  • Maintain the comfort, privacy, and dignity of each resident while performing treatments.
  • Interact with residents in a manner that displays warmth and promotes a caring environment. Maintain a comprehensive understanding and adherence to all aspects of resident rights. including the right to be free of abuse. Promptly report to the Administrator all incidents or evidence of resident abuse or violation of resident's rights.
  • Assist with orienting residents and families to the wound care process upon admission.
  • Promptly report injuries of unknown origin to the Floor Nurse and Director of Nursing, including skin tears.
  • Communicate and interact effectively, courteously, and tactfully with residents, visitors, family members, peers, and supervisors. Education/Experience
