Role Overview:
As a restaurant expediter, your primary role is to act as the liaison between the kitchen and the front-of-house staff.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all food orders are prepared correctly, plated attractively, and served promptly to customers.
Key Responsibilities:

Order Coordination: Receive food orders from servers and relay them to the appropriate kitchen stations (e.g., appetizers, entrees, desserts).

Quality Control: Inspect each dish before it leaves the kitchen to ensure it meets the restaurant's quality standards in terms of presentation, portion size, and temperature.

Timing Management: Coordinate the timing of food preparation to ensure that all components of a meal are ready simultaneously and that multiple orders are synchronized for large parties.

Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with both kitchen staff and servers, providing updates on order status and any special requests or modifications from customers.

Problem Solving: Address any issues or discrepancies that arise during the food preparation process, such as missing ingredients, cooking errors, or customer complaints, and find quick solutions to resolve them.

Expedite Service: Expedite the flow of food from the kitchen to the dining area, ensuring that orders are delivered promptly and accurately to the correct tables.

Team Support: Assist kitchen staff with tasks as needed, such as garnishing plates, assembling desserts, or packaging takeout orders during peak hours.

Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the expediting station, to ensure efficiency and food safety standards are upheld.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a restaurant environment, preferably in a role involving food service or kitchen operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fastpaced setting.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Problemsolving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure, especially during busy periods or when dealing with unexpected challenges.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, with a focus on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and dining areas.
Pay:
$ $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
