- Must be able to cook a variety of large quantities of quality food.
- Must be knowledgeable of food procedures.
- Must posses' leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
- Must be willing to adapt to change.
- Must be able to push carts and lift up to 30 pounds.
- Must be able to communicate with kitchen staff and other staff in different departments.
- Must be able to move intermittently thought entire shift.
- Review menus before preparing food.
- Prepare food in accordance with facility recipes, planned menus, and special diet orders.
- Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations as well as established facility policies and procedures.
- Follow established infection control prevention and control policies and procedures.
- Prepare food that is palatable and appetizing in appearance.
- Prepare food in accordance with established portion control.
- Process diet changes and new diets received from nursing services.
- Inspect diet trays to ensure the correct diet is being served to the right residents.
- Maintain care and use of supplies, equipment, and the appearance of the kitchen.
- Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties.
- Assist in maintaining food storage areas in a clean and arranged.
- Assist in inventorying and storing incoming food, supplies, etc. as necessary.
- Assist in food preparation for special meals, parties, etc.
- Assist in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis.
