- Supervises 2 residence life coordinators (professional staff).
- Works with residence life coordinators to train and supervise 25 RA's and 4 Community Advisors.
- Assists in running monthly all-staff meetings.
- Leads and coordinates university-wide logistics for early arrivals, move-in, move-out and other housing transitions.
- Assists in the development and implementation of the residence life programming model.
- Contributes to the development of ongoing professional development opportunities for the residence life team, including Student Staff.
- Reviews and updates the Residence Life website, calendar, policies, contracts, staff training manual, and other important documentation.
- Assist in the maintenance and operation of access system management including but not limited to key audits and keyless access systems.
- Assist in housing operations that include, but not limited to, meal plan audits, room change requests, and credit hour confirmation.
- Troubleshoot incoming calls, emails, and student questions in the Residence Life office.
- Demonstrates proficiency in the operation of housing software and assists as needed in housing assignments for new and returning students.
- Administer the University conduct system, including receipt of reports of alleged violations, investigations, and both formal and informal resolutions processes for reports of alleged violations of the Student Code of Conduct including appeals.
- Provide periodic review of the Student Code of Conduct to ensure consistency with best practices and the University mission.
- Recruit and train faculty, staff, and student conduct hearing officers to participate in the formal resolution process.
- Develop sanctioning models that support the University's educational mission and promote student development.
- Develop further restorative options within the student conduct system.
- Collaborate with the Title IX Coordinator to ensure appropriate jurisdiction for reports.
- Provide education on community expectations to new and continuing students with an emphasis on wellness, student success, and pro-social behavior.
- Oversee student completion of required on-line education modules related to student conduct.
- Collaborate with Student Engagement to promote strong awareness among student organizations about conduct expectations.
- Trains as a Title IX investigator and is available to support the Title IX resolution process at the request of the Title IX Coordinator.
- Serves as a member of the Petrel Care and Assessment Team, providing student support and behavioral assessment (may occasionally require serving as a case manager).
- Participates in Student Affairs major programs that involve all student affairs staff.
- On-call rotation if living on campus.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree in education, counseling, or similar field preferred.
- 1 - 3 years minimum prior experience in Residence Life.
- Experience with academic coaching, developmental advising, mediation, and general helping skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a collaborative and team-oriented work style
- Ability to work with diverse students
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Excellent organization and administrative skills
- Experience with staff supervision, development, and training
- Capacity to utilize appropriate software, such as housing management software, Excel, and other Microsoft systems.

Description
Oglethorpe University seeks a dynamic and influential leader to serve as the Associate Director of Residence Life & Student Conduct Reporting to the Assistant Dean and Director of Residence Life, the Associate Director of Residence Life & Student Conduct will bring a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion to the operations of the Office of Residence Life, including direct oversight for the development of intentional programming to promote retention, belonging, and engagement. The Associate director will also serve as the University's chief conduct officer, overseeing planning, training, implementation, and policy related to conduct. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong partnership skills and collaborate with offices across campus including University Events, Student Engagement, the Intercultural Center, Counseling, Facilities, and Campus Safety. Title will be based on the candidate's skills, education, and experience.
The successful candidate may choose to live on campus, in which case they would also serve in the University on-call rotation. On-campus housing includes an apartment and meal plan.
