    Description

    Position: SAS Platform and Tools L2 Product Owner

    Company: Wells Fargo

    About this role:

    Wells Fargo is seeking a SAS Platform and Tools L2 Product Owner with expertise in migrating from SAS 9 Grid to SAS Viya 4 on Google Cloud (SaaS). This pivotal role entails leading the development and enhancement of our SAS-based analytics platform while overseeing a smooth transition to the next-generation SAS Viya 4 environment.

    In this role, you will:

    • Advise leadership on developing objectives, plans, resources, and goals for complex business and technical needs
    • Lead strategy and resolution of unique challenges across multiple areas, delivering innovative solutions
    • Provide vision and expertise to senior leadership on implementing significant business solutions
    • Recommend process or control enhancements aligned with management strategy
    • Engage with professionals and managers, serving as an expert advisor to leadership
    • Represent the client in developing companywide data governance strategies
    • Collaborate with teams to drive collaboration on solution design and execution

    Product Vision and Strategy:

    • Define and articulate a clear product vision and strategy for SAS Platform and Tools and the migration to SAS Viya 4
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with organizational goals

    Roadmap Development:

    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap for SAS Platform and Tools
    • Plan and execute the migration roadmap from SAS 9 Grid to SAS Viya 4

    Migration Strategy from SAS 9 Grid to SAS Viya 4:

    • Assess the existing SAS 9 Grid environment, identifying workloads and hardware configurations
    • Develop a migration plan, including data migration and re-engineering SAS 9 Grid workloads

    Requirements Gathering:

    • Collect and analyze user feedback, market trends, and competitive intelligence
    • Define detailed product requirements and acceptance criteria for SAS Platform and the migration to SAS Viya 4

    Manage on-prem SAS products:

    • Effectively manage BAU product backlog and priorities
    • Drive Data Center Exit strategy for SAS products

    Quality Assurance:

    • Coordinate with QA teams to execute test plans and ensure reliability
    • Conduct thorough testing during the migration process

    User Training and Support:

    • Develop and deliver training programs for end-users
    • Provide ongoing support during and post-migration

    Monitoring and Optimization:

    • Establish monitoring mechanisms for performance tracking
    • Optimize configurations based on performance data

    Required Qualification:

    • 7+ years of Data Management, Business Analysis, or Project Management experience
    • 3+ years of experience in platform/tool operations and strategy
    • 1+ years of Agile experience

    Desired Qualification:

    • Experience with Cloud Data Platforms
    • Prior experience in migrating on-prem SAS to Cloud
    • Managed SAS platform with operational responsibilities
    • Experience in data architecture and strategy
    • Proven experience in leading development of products
    • Demonstrated work organizing and enabling teams in a scaled Agile environment
    • Google Cloud certification desired
    • Experience creating strategic plans and roadmaps at the executive level

    Job Expectations:

    • Ability to travel up to 10%
    • Hybrid work schedule
    • Willingness to work on-site
