Records Management SME
We are looking for a Records Management SME to join our team at Forest Service (FS). This role is crucial for maintaining electronic records in compliance with National Archives Records Administration (NARA) guidelines.

The SME will provide support for the Records Management and Legal Hold management areas, utilizing the FS Pinyon System integrated into the Box Enterprise, the official repository for agency records.

The position requirements include; a minimum of 10 years demonstrated experience in the following areas:

Records Management Compliance:


  • Maintain electronic records in accordance with NARA guidelines.
  • Ensure records management processes align with Forest Service, USDA, and NARA directives.
  • Manage records through their retention cycle until ready for disposition as per NARA guidance.

Systems Management:


  • Utilize FS Pinyon System integrated with Box Enterprise for records management.
  • Develop and maintain effective and usable structures within the Pinyon/Box environment.
  • Ensure the Pinyon/Box system supports complete integration to meet eRecords system requirements.

Training and Support:


  • Train business areas/units on government records management practices.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure effective use of electronic records management systems.

Collaboration and Reporting:


  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders on records management initiatives.
  • Develop and publish reports and analysis using Microsoft SharePoint or other data sources.
  • Maintain and update knowledge management articles and processes to support mission area achievements.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Records Management, or a related field is required.
  • Proficiency in electronic records management in compliance with NARA guidelines.
  • Experience with FS Pinyon System, Box Enterprise, and Microsoft SharePoint Online.
  • Ability to assess and improve business units' readiness and understanding of records lifecycles.
  • Familiarity with agency file plans and methods for consolidating file plans.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in developing and implementing records management processes and improvements.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED:_Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance. US Citizenship is a requirement for a Public Trust clearance at this location.


Pay:
$70, $75,000.00 per year
