- Collaborate with design teams to select the most suitable components based on technical requirements, cost, and availability.
- Conduct component testing, including performance, functionality, and durability assessments.
- Provide technical support in the design, development, and production phases of products.
- Create and maintain component specifications, datasheets, and other related documentation.
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
- Identify potential component substitutes and propose alternatives to improve functionality or reduce costs.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and component innovations.
- Analyze and troubleshoot component-related issues during development and production stages.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve component-related challenges and optimize product performance.
- Participate in supplier qualification and assessment processes.
- Conduct failure analysis and recommend corrective actions for any component-related failures.
- Support production teams in component sourcing, inventory management, and obsolescence management.
- Stay aware of industry standards, regulations, and certifications relevant to components used in the products.
- Continuously improve component engineering processes and techniques to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Component Engineer or in a related role.
- Strong understanding of electronic and electro-mechanical components, their functionalities, and applications.
- Extensive knowledge of component selection criteria, including performance, quality, and reliability parameters.
- Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices for component engineering.
- Proficient in component testing and evaluation techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and build positive relationships with suppliers.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
- Self-motivated with a proactive attitude towards continuous learning and professional development.
