- Education: BS, MS, or OTD degree in the field of Occupational Therapy from an approved school. Active license in Occupational Therapy for the state of Arkansas.
- Training and Experience: Successful completion of an accredited college program in Occupational Therapy including clinical experience. Up to date CPR certification.
- Job Knowledge: Demonstrate competence in leadership skills, rehab principals, and procedures. Possess skills and knowledge necessary to care for patients according to their age specific needs.
- Must be able to report to work fit for duty and free of any adverse effects of illegal drugs, medical marijuana, prescription medication, and/or alcohol.
- Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with other individuals.

Job Summary: Functions as a member of the Rehabilitation team and provides quality care for
patients referred for services by a licensed physician.
Job Duties: Initiates patient care through evidenced-based assessment, and documentation of findings in the patient's electronic medical record (EMR). Submits a detailed plan of care to the referring provider for approval and signature within 24 hours of completing evaluation. Submits accurate treatment charges daily in the EMR. Maintains treatment records, statistical data, and patient schedule for patients referred for treatment. Monitors patient progress and adjusts the treatment plan and/or makes recommendations for a referral as needed. Supervises Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) in the care of patients and provides education as needed to enhance their clinical skills. Continuously observes all equipment in the department for hazards to assure patient safety. Displays positive behavior, promoting effective interpersonal relationships and enhancing the hospital's image. Contributes and assists in enhancing the productivity and efficient operation of the Rehab Therapy Department. Maintain professional knowledge, licensing, and skills; promotes understanding of the field of occupational therapy. Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
Qualifications:
be able to lift, bend, reach, or stoop without restrictions as necessary to transfer patients or
equipment. The individual will be required to assist with lifting and moving patients, pushing of carts, wheelchairs, and other equipment. The individual must also be able to maneuver throughout the halls, stairways, and patient rooms in response to hospital emergencies. Interpretation of environmental input requires visual and auditory skills. A significant amount of writing and computer entry is required.
