About this role


The Organization


North Los Angeles County Regional Center "NLACRC" is a private, non-profit agency that is contracted with the State of California, Department of Developmental Services, to provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

NLACRC is one of the largest regional centers in California and has proudly served the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and Antelope Valley since 1974.

We serve individuals across the lifespan from infants and toddlers, school age children, transition-age youth, to adults and aging adults.


Supervision
Receive general supervision from the Operations Accounting supervisor.


The Position and Job Summary

Perform payroll and accounting functions:

  • Assists with processing biweekly payroll for exempt and nonexempt staff
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to payroll
  • Provide support for audits related to payroll and benefits
  • Review and issue year end W2 for all employees
  • Review and process payroll and HR related accounts payable check requests
  • Ensure that all check requests are coded with the accurate Budget Account Number, G/L Account, signatures, amounts and dates
  • Reconcile Health, Dental, Vision and FSA rosters against monthly invoices
  • Report Multiple Worksite Report (MWR) on a quarterly basis to the Bureau of Labor Statistics
  • Reconcile, process, and report biweekly payroll payables such as 457 contributions, 403b contributions, Credit Union contributions, CALPERS Long Term Care contributions, and SEIU union dues
  • Track, reconcile, and report expenses for special grants and budgets such as:
  • Language Access and Cultural Competency (LACC) funding
  • Service Access and Equity (SAE) Grant Funding
  • NLACRC Workforce and Employment Project
  • Community Placement Plan (CPP) funding
  • Clinical funding
  • Review and issue year end 1099 for all vendors
  • Conduct monthly bank reconciliation of our Business Checking Account
  • Reclassify and void operations related transactions as needed
  • Process journal entries for ICF SPA
  • Other duties as assigned

Employment Standards

  • Two years Accounting experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in processing payroll using ADP required
  • Associate degree or higher education

Skills and Abilities

  • Accounting principles and procedures
  • Competency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Advance Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with ADP preferred
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good follow through
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must work effectively with people from a variety of cultures

Essential Requirements
The ability to work on-site. Valid California Driver's License and reliable and transportation, or acceptable substitute, required.
