Description
We are seeking a Pediatric Anesthesiologist (board certified/board eligible) to join our team at Maine Medical Center (MMC) and Spectrum Healthcare Partners.
Our specialized pediatric surgery partners include pediatric surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics, ENT, and cardiac surgery.The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital is Maine's premier pediatric referral hospital with 116 beds including 31 Level III NICU Beds, 20 Level II Continuing Care Nursery beds and 10 PICU beds.
We provide anesthesia at our inpatient hospital, outpatient surgery and outpatient imaging centers.Our pediatric anesthesia group provides expert anesthesiology care for patients undergoing complex neurosurgical repairs, neonatal surgery, airway reconstructions, and cath lab procedures in addition to more "bread and butter" pediatric services.
Pediatric cardiac bypass case opportunities exist for those with interest and additional cardiac training. Call averages one weekend/month, one-weekday call/week. Staffing is 1:2 with residents, 1:3 with CRNA's and the case mix is ~35%pediatrics/65% adult.Staff are clinical faculty at the Tufts University School of Medicine and are integral to the education of our expanding MMC anesthesiology residency.
We also participate in research and quality improvement endeavors central to the mission of the pediatric and anesthesia service lines.
ABA board certification, and Pediatric Anesthesiology Boards required within 4 years of employment.As a key player on our team, you'll contribute to our legacy of excellence in anesthesiology, playing a pivotal role in patient care, the continuous improvement of our practice, educating residents, and in some cases participating in research.
