- With the opening of a new state-of-the-art cardiovascular medical tower in 2024, the MMC cardiac service line will expand to better meet the needs of both our community and northern New England.
- We anticipate increasing our cardiac surgery (currently 1000 cases), structural heart, and EP volume by 80% over the next three years.
- Our cardiac anesthesia group provides expert anesthesiology care for patients undergoing coronary revascularization, complex valve replacements, structural heart procedures (TAVR, MitraClip, Watchman), high-risk PCI, and heart failure surgery (ECMO, LVAD, Impella).
- Cardiac anesthesiologists work will predominantly focus on the care of these patients. Call will average one weekend/month.
- We are also committed to education and research.
- We serve as faculty for both the MMC anesthesiology residency and cardiac anesthesia fellowship programs.
- We also participate in research and quality improvement endeavors central to the mission of the cardiac surgery service line.
