DE&E Technology is responsible for The Walt Disney Company's direct-to-consumer businesses globally, including the ESPN+ sports streaming service, programmed in conjunction with ESPN; Disney+, the Disney-branded direct-to-consumer streaming service; global advertising sales and ad technology for all of Disney's media properties, including ABC, ESPN, Freeform, FX Networks, National Geographic, and the Disney Channels; HotStar, the leading over-the-top streaming service in India; and the Company's majority ownership stake in Hulu.


Job Summary:


As a member of the Infrastructure Engineering organization, the Manager of Network Operations will lead a team that provides first line support and troubleshooting for large scale production network issues as well as assisting in the implementation of network builds.

Working closely with Network Engineering, Network Security, and Systems Operations teams, the Network Operations team ensures maximum uptime of network services and the expeditious resolution of all issues.


The Network Operations Manager will lead the team in interacting with 24x7 real time network monitoring and alerting, correlate those alerts, and react as appropriate.

They will serve as the technical critical issue point for the team.

They will coordinate cross functionality between teams to implement data center and production center network builds and maintain network accessibility.

The manager will be also responsible for staffing, training, scheduling, and guiding the activities of the Network Operations team.


Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

  • Work within a team of technical resources to support the work from the Architectural, Engineering and Operation teams to lead and maintain multi-vendor, multi-protocol enterprise and production networks.
  • Interacts and communicates with supervisor and peers. Receives and transmits routine information requiring some explanation or interpretation, typically to members of a single technical team.
  • Ability to resolve network issues with a low to moderate degree of complexity while following established procedures or analyzing data to diagnose and identify root causes when necessary, to resolve network issues or complete assignments.
  • Demonstrates a good work ethic, initiative and the ability to purposefully and effectively troubleshoot problems and perform root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with the business to understand requirements and how to meet these requirements.
  • Responsible for Incident Management ensuring that incidents are effectively escalated, and resolved with full communication of status, plans, and actions to management and customers.
  • Work with technology vendors to assess software and hardware bugs and implement vital fixes.
  • Connect with internal and external contacts at various organizational levels to diagnose, explain and resolve problems for technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Troubleshoot daily live content transport and compression delivery issues as they arise.
  • Comfortable working in a fastpaced, growth environment with mínimal direction, delivering while multitasking, prioritizing projects, and presenting priority updates to team members.
