    Description


    Job Description Job Description General SummaryCoordinates and expedites the flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department supervisors priorities.

    Essential DutiesReviews production schedules and confers with department supervisors to determine material required or overdue and locate materialMaintain working familiarity with hazardous material documentation (SDS)Creates purchase orders in proprietary computer systemMaintains vendor records in accordance with Company policyMatches delivery and billing records to purchase ordersRequisitions material and establishes delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of materialArranges for transfer of materials to meet production schedulesArranges with department supervisors for repair and assembly of material and its transportation to various departmentsExamines material delivered to production departments to verify material meets specificationsComputes amount of material needed for specific job orders, applying knowledge of product and manufacturing processes as neededCompiles reports of quantity and type of material on hand as neededTransports material from one department to another, using hand truck or industrial truck as neededCompiles perpetual production records in order to locate material in process of production, using manual or computerized system as neededOther duties as assignedKnowledge, Experience and Skill RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent.

    Associates degree preferredAbility to research parts independentlyFamiliarity with basics of building maintenanceGood communication skills necessaryProficient in Microsoft Office Suite SoftwareStrong attention to detailMust have excellent organizational skillsMust be able to read and write EnglishWork EnvironmentMust be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions.

    Physical demands include intermittent sitting, standing, and walking, and occasional bending reaching and lifting.

    Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to the point of being disagreeable.

    May involve minor safety hazards where likely result would be cuts, bruises, etc.
