    Description

    The position is 40 hours per week and can be flexible in terms of scheduling. Generally, normal business hours preferred, but it could be 7:00-3:00, 8:00-4:00, or 9:00-5:00, for example.

    Must Haves:

    Laboratory experience

    Excellent organization skills

    Excellent communication skills

    Number 4 would be a desire to learn, as this role has the potential to evolve into higher level work moving forward.

    Description:

    Research Lab Associate - 100% Onsite - Potential of extension or consideration of FTE

    OBJECTIVES

    • Support GI medicinal chemistry analytical instrumentation routine maintenance
    • Assist with registration of purified compounds
    • Perform general laboratory upkeep with minimal guidance

    ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Track and manage LC-MS solvent levels
    • Prepare analytical standards and run daily QC checks on LC-MS systems
    • Assist with post-purification compound registration
    • Troubleshoot basic LC-MS hardware and software issues
    • Perform and log basic preventative maintenance tasks on LC-MS systems
    • Assist with creating and maintaining analytical chemistry supply inventory
    • Organize and tidy analytical chemistry lab spaces
    • Demonstrates basic knowledge of scientific principles for a range of lab processes and assignments
    • Understands fundamental scientific mechanisms and function of analytical instrumentation
    • Able to work independently
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Follows general instructions on routine work; detailed instructions on new assignments

    EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

    • Associates degree Chemistry or in related scientific discipline (or equivalent) with 2+ years relevant experience, or high school diploma with 4+ years relevant experience
    • Experience in a chemistry laboratory setting strongly preferred
