- Manage and support a team of commodity managers and lead cross-functional teams to develop strategies to achieve total cost improvements, lead time reductions, and overall supply rationalization and manage year-over-year price improvements.
- Align procurement strategies with engineering, lifecycle, and all regions and global entities.
- Coordinate with purchasing and materials managers to align goals and mitigate any risk associated with the commodity. Enhance supplier relationships and review performance metrics to support production needs both short and long-term.
- Develop a clear understanding of the market forces and conditions that drive each commodity and set strategies to guide those forces effectively. Develop annual "cost down strategies" with key suppliers that support the company goals.
- Lead internal management groups to support their long-term strategic needs for a commodity.
- Administer supplier audits, site reviews, and any supply breakdowns due to not meeting expectations agreed upon by the supplier.
- Utilize data analysis to run queries, build reports, and support data-driven decisions across the organization.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain management, or business with a minimum of seven years of previous experience within supply chain/operations, of which experience must include four years of strategic sourcing experience. Previous experience leading a team is preferred.
- MBA, MSM, or MS-SCM preferred.
- Knowledge of warehouse inventory management, engineering blueprints, contract law, purchase orders, blanket orders, and marketing and sales data.
- Demonstrated ability to work with others in difficult situations managing conflict and taking ownership for commodity projects.
- Ability to prioritize projects and multi-task to meet deadlines and customer expectations.
- Demonstrated ability to work with suppliers professionally and negotiate the best total cost benefit for the organization.
- Proficiency with ERP and data analytics software including Power BI, Power Apps, and SQL Developer.
- Certified Professional in Supply Management or Certified Supply Chain Professional required.
- Occasional travel is expected of this position.

Description
Are you someone who thrives on strategic thinking and would enjoy overseeing a team of sourcing professionals responsible for developing and implementing dynamic commodity strategies? In this position, you will be tasked with mentoring and guiding commodity managers as they cultivate supplier partnerships, oversee contractual agreements, negotiate for long-term advantage, and facilitate communication internally and externally to meet strategic need goals.
We're looking for an individual with a holistic people-oriented approach and strong negotiation abilities to ensure optimal cost benefits while leading a team of commodity managers in their support of our company's objectives.
