Summary


The Manager, Client Fund Accounting (CFA) Operations Center of Excellence is responsible for the compliance, effectiveness, and excellence of the CFA organization's daily operations related to the administration and processing of health and welfare and pension benefits in accordance with Company guidelines, client needs, and regulatory requirements.

Key
Duties
and
Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and oversight to the CFA Operations Center of Excellence Auditor, ensuring Trust Accounting (TA) and Accounts Receivable (AR) operations are delivered with supreme quality.
  • Manages auditing of client tax payments, fund transfers, and contribution rates.
  • Collaborates closely with the CFA Operations Vice Presidents, Directors, Managers, and staff to ensure services are delivered according to national and clientspecific standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Manages and monitors national and clientspecific SOPs to ensure they are consistently reviewed and maintained.
  • Ensures all applicable clients are implemented and maintained within the tax tool workflow for all applicable client tax filings and payments including but not limited to federal, state, local, PBGC, and PCORI.
  • Ensures all client tax payments are completed timely and accurately.
  • Works with TA team (and legal team when necessary) to support tax abatements and correspondence with government entities.
  • Ensures the TA accounts payable team is following appropriate procedures and monitors reports to ensure timeliness in collaboration with the VP Trust Accounting.
  • Ensures clients are implemented and maintained within the month end checklist/reconciliation tool.
  • Ensures appropriate automation through source system of all participant checks.
  • Responsible for reviewing and managing AR contributions and collections in collaboration with VP Accounts Receivable.
  • Works with the applicable staff to ensure check signatures are current, and correctly and appropriately maintained.
  • Participates in client implementations to ensure new clients are setup appropriately in all financial systems including the month end reconciliation/checklist, accounts payable, the tax tool, and applicable IRS and state tax registrations are completed. Ensures new client CFA SOPs are documented and uploaded to knowledge tool intranet site and ensures TA staff have uploaded appropriate banking setup documentation to the appropriate electronic location.
  • Responsible for ensuring all client banking data is appropriately maintained according to SOPs.
  • Ensures stale/expired check processes are being followed and completed timely.
  • Ensures compliance with the external client audit SOP and reviews audit findings to determine areas for improvement and actions to be taken as necessary.
  • Evaluates opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the vacation checks process and payroll services.
  • Mentors, coaches, collaborates, and leads by consistently exhibiting leadership qualities consistent with Company values and mission.
  • Ensures sufficient and appropriate business processes and operational controls are in place to support the CFA organization's short

  • Evaluates existing processes across CFA functional areas and develops efficiencies and performance improvements.
  • Develops policies, practices and procedures that support and drive efficient CFA operations, organizational growth, and client satisfaction. Continually monitors effectiveness of CFA operations; works with CFA Vice Presidents to make operational adjustments as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Eight to ten years of progressive financial or accounting operations and/or audit experience.
  • Strong familiarity and understanding of thirdparty administrator operations and Taft-Hartley provisions and implications.
  • Experience with federal, state, and local tax filings and payments.
  • Understanding of labor unions with the knowledge and experience necessary to effectively navigate these complex business landscapes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, able to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate, coach, and drive to action individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary to meet strategic objectives and fulfill commitments to all stakeholders.
