    Summary:

    The Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Operations Lead for BaaS is responsible for supporting the day-to-day BSA operations activities within our BaaS operations, including transaction monitoring, suspicious activity reporting, customer due diligence, and enhanced due diligence processes for BaaS customers, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry best practices. The BSA Operations Lead for BaaS will also collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness of our BSA program and contribute to strategic initiatives to advance department efficacy.


    Wage Type: Salaried Exempt

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive BSA, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and OFAC sanctions compliance programs specifically tailored to our BaaS operations.
    • Lead a team of compliance professionals responsible for BSA transaction monitoring, suspicious activity reporting, customer identification processes, customer due diligence processes, enhanced due diligence processes, and currency transaction reporting.
    • Conduct periodic risk assessments of our BaaS operations with the BSA Officer and compliance team to identify potential areas of non-compliance and implement corrective measures as necessary.
    • Liaise with internal and/or external auditors and examiners before, during, and after audits and exams, and actively participate in any response or remediation necessary as needed when issues are identified.
    • Stay abreast of changes in BSA/AML laws, regulations, and industry trends relevant to BaaS operations, and ensure timely updates to policies, procedures, and training materials.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for law enforcement agencies during BSA investigations related to our BaaS operations.
    • Collaborate with Product Development, Risk, Compliance, and Operations teams to implement controls and procedures to mitigate BSA/AML risks associated with new BaaS offerings and partnerships.
    • Provide training and guidance to BaaS operations staff on BSA/AML compliance requirements, policies, and procedures.
    • Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on BSA compliance activities, key performance indicators, and emerging risks specific to BaaS operations.
    • Carries out responsibilities in a manner consistent with our values and operating principles, in accordance with policy and applicable laws, and with a commitment to commitment to continuous improvement and process excellence.

    Qualifications:

    Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Related Field.

    Required Knowledge/Skills:

    • Demonstrated Leadership Ability and able to develop teams/influence others (internal or 3rd party professionals)
    • In-depth knowledge of BSA/AML laws, regulations, and regulatory expectations, including the USA PATRIOT Act, FinCEN regulations, Counter Terrorism Finance (CTF) and OFAC sanctions.
    • BSA/AML compliance experience with emphasis on Customer Identification Program (CIP), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD)
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in financial data.
    • Proven track record of implementing and managing BSA/AML compliance programs in a complex and dynamic environment.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.

    Desired Knowledge:

    • CRCM and/or CAMS preferred.
    • 5+ years of experience in a financial institution required.
    • 5+ years of experience in banking compliance preferred.
    • Experience with deposit operations/compliance and/or lending compliance.
    • CRCM and/or CAMS preferred
