We're excited to offer an opportunity for a highly driven R&D Technician to join our dynamic team, based at our manufacturing facility in Acton, MA.

As a key member of our technology organization, you'll report directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and collaborate closely with both standard and custom engineering teams.


In this critical role, you'll play a vital part in driving product development by contributing to system design, providing technical insight to multidisciplinary engineering teams, and offering hands-on diagnostics support.

Your contributions will help ensure seamless deployment of new developments into production, supporting our manufacturing efforts.

To excel in this position, you'll need strong hands-on electro/mechanical troubleshooting skills, with a background in refrigeration and engineering. As you work closely with our chambers, your mechanical aptitude and problem-solving prowess will be invaluable assets.

Responsibilities:_

  • Responsible for triage of challenging systems, leveraging the knowledge of the team members, to rapiding diagnostic issues and provide corrective actions
  • Troubleshooting electrical, refrigeration, and control systems.
  • Interacting with manufacturing teams to use feedback to improve the product and testing processes
  • Stay on top of new technologies and trends
  • Responsible for developing and qualifying prototype designs
  • Gather and document pertinent data on the performance of products and prototypes
  • Assists in maintaining lab cleanliness and maintaining infrastructure
  • Responsible for the successful deployment of new designs and technologies

Education and Experience:_

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years of relevant service experience; preferably in an industrial equipment industry.
  • Experience with test equipment, including multimeters, digital power supplies, and logic analyzers.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, and software issues on industrial equipment.
  • Experience reading schematics of industrial equipment.
  • A great positive attitude and work ethic.

Skills/Abilities you will learn:_

  • Advanced refrigeration design evaluation, using existing tools to review each component of a system and compare to real world data
  • Control systems, ability to configure and troubleshoot AES control systems including PLCs, custom hardware, and other intelligent control systems.
  • Ability to use data acquisition systems to collect sensor data for diagnostics and validation
  • Advanced problem solving and critical thinking skills
