Machine Operator
- _2nd Shift scheduling options include: Monday
  • Friday 3:00PM 11:15PM or option of 4/10 scheduling Monday
  • Thursday 2:00PM 12:15AM_

Summary/Objective:

The Machine Operator position is responsible for the setup and operation of machinery necessary to manufacture custom products. The Machine Operator uses equipment, tools, and instructions to generate products that meet quality standards and customer needs.


Essential Functions:


  • Print and/or Convert raw materials to meet customer expectations as detailed in the job jacket and drawing.
  • Record in the ERP system, materials used on the work order and complete required process documentation for each job.
  • Report hours in the ERP system, through the process of logging into each job.
  • Implement quality control procedures on all jobs using quality checks, quality tests, and inspections as defined by the; IPIC, Quality Manager and/or Production Supervisor.
  • Perform appropriate packaging for products and customers.
  • Create labels and implement label changes utilizing the Easy Label programs on the Zebra printers.
  • Utilize the help buttons in the ERP system to update and maintain information concerning jobs and customers on the job jacket and/or job ticket e.g., improvements on quality, changes in the way it was run, etc.
  • Take pictures and/or video and create process drawings of the process at the end of each job, if the process used is different from the Job Jacket.
  • Adhere to the production schedule, and report discrepancies or concerns to the Production Supervisor.
  • Adhere to 5S principals and protocol documented for each press.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines.
  • Contribute to the creation, improvement, implementation, documentation, and performance of the processes and procedures of The Strouse Corporation Quality Management System.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described herein are those that must be met by an employee (with or without reasonable accommodation) to successfully perform the essential functions of the Machine Operator position:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects that weigh up to 50 pounds, frequently lift, and/or move objects that weigh 50 to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 75 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


Travel:

Travel is rare (expected less than 5%), but any potential travel ranges from a partial day to multiple days. Primarily in North America but OUS may occur.


Required Education and Experience:


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Computer Proficiency: Basic Data Entry Skills

Preferred Education and Experience:


  • Mechanical Experience
  • Machine Operation Experience in Manufacturing Industry
  • Experience Working with Tight Tolerances
  • Experience Using Various Types of Measuring Instruments
  • Experience Using Video Measurement Machines
