    Community Based Housing Director

    St. Francis Center (SFC), an institution of the Episcopal Diocese of Colorado, was established in June 1983. SFC is a refuge for homeless people in the metro Denver area. Our programs and services are tailored toward adults, and focus on daytime shelter and basic need, social services, health and wellness, housing, employment, and outreach. At SFC, "guests" can work with a variety of specialists, depending on their individual needs, which is often the first step toward transformation and ultimately self-sufficiency.

    We are currently looking for a Community Based Housing Director. This is a Full-Time, exempt position eligible for an excellent benefit package as outlined below. This position will oversee housing programs owned or operated by the St. Francis Center as assigned.

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Community Based Housing Director oversees various Permanent Supportive Housing teams implementing a Housing First approach. Initial sites are Warren Residences, Cornerstone Residences, and scattered site locations. Sites and programs may vary over time. The teams provide comprehensive case management services to people who are transitioning out of homelessness.

    The Community Based Housing Director works independently as a dependable, competent, compassionate SFC Department Director and collaborates fully with SFC's program staff and other service providers in the community to provide optimum coordination, communication, and continuity of services for residents and potential residents of the housing programs. The Director provides both clinically informed and performance focused supervision for the SFC Housing team and completes administrative tasks needed to assure that the housing program is operated in compliance with our contracts.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Provide staff and clinically informed supervision to housing case managers, interns and residents.
    • Oversee grant and contracts related to the housing programs. Completes all necessary reports and activities to maintain compliance with funding sources.
    • Hire, train, support and evaluate housing teams and interns, in order to create a safe and positive working environment.
    • Facilitate and participate in weekly team meetings, coordinate staff schedules
    • Coordinate volunteers and support, as needed by program
    • Ensure a robust resident events/calendar and access to community treatment and social services with the housing teams to encourage prosocial engagement by residents
    • Manage daily operations of program including planning, development, performance management and evaluation (including resident feedback)
    • Collaborate with Property Management to ensure housing programs follow federal housing voucher regulations and to promote a safe community environment for everyone in the building.
    • Maintain and review all needed paperwork and documentation required for compliance with federal housing voucher regulations, and compliance with other funding grants and loans regulatory requirements.
    • Submit required (quarterly, annual) reporting to funders.
    • Oversee housing openings and facilitate screening process for new housing applicants.
    • Develop and review policies regarding best practices and appropriate procedures.
    • Create and oversee the budget for program, and support SFC grant writing as needed.
    • Coordinate community outreach and advocacy regarding the programs, to include giving tours and speaking about the programs to the community.
    • Interface with neighbors, adjacent programs and other stakeholders.
    • Participate in SFC leadership groups, trainings, and other agency committees or activities as requested.
    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS)
    • LCSW or other licensed MH professional with supervisory and clinical experience preferred.
    • Five or more years of experience with Housing First or intensive case management/outreach or other housing programs.
    • Experience in supervising housing case management teams or other comparable programs.
    • Five or more years of relevant experience and demonstrated competency assisting people living in poverty or who have experienced homelessness; demonstrated leadership with previous employer or in the community.
    • Experience with federal housing program compliance.
    • Experience with community prioritization processes for access to housing resources (HUD CoC processes, Coordinated Entry, etc.)
    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
    • Experience using skills that are proven effective in working with people who have experienced homelessness or extreme poverty, trauma and live with multiple disabilities. (i.e. motivational interviewing, strength-based assessment and client centered housing stability plans, etc.)
    • Demonstrated experience leading a team of service professionals Implementation of knowledge regarding the following: Housing First, harm reduction, trauma informed care, cultural sensitivity, restorative practices, motivational interviewing, strengths-based treatment, protocols for correct use of the DSM-5, CBT and other mental health modalities and frameworks.
    • Experience with tenant income and compliance forms, HQS inspection requirements, community Coordinated Entry processes (Metro Denver Homelessness Initiative's One Home list), etc.
    • Reporting and compliance experience with federal, state and city grant and loan regulations.
    • Knowledge of Mental Health documentation and requirements for billing.
    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

    Salary Range: $65,000 - $78,000 annually DOE

    This is a full-time, 40 hours/week, exempt position.
