Purpose

Support the completion of projects whose goal is to improve Utilities and Energy Management systems and processes. Gathers information on existing systems or processes and researches relevant topics related to each project. Provide skilled testing, installation, repair, and project coordination associated with building systems and distributed district energy systems. This position will provide technical support and development assistance for the proper operation of main campus and JJPRC campus plant controls, energy metering, networking, and utility system updates


Responsibilities:

Administrative Duties:
Ensure compliance with University and UEM safety policies and procedures. Take required safety training. Identify and report safety hazards. Promote the core values of Safety, Respect, Integrity, Reliability, Teamwork, and Excellence. Work effectively both remotely and on campus. Drive university vehicles or carts as needed.

Maintain acceptable driver rating as established in Policy:

UTS157 Section 2.5.- Collaboration: Collaborate with Utilities Engineers, Operations, and Technical Staff within Utilities and Energy Management, emphasizing utility-focused projects.

Provide support to Utilities staff and University Stakeholders— across facilities and utility systems.

  • Project Management: Coordinate project activities, resources, and teams to achieve project objectives within set timelines and budgets. Lead planning, organization, and execution while ensuring effective communication, risk management, and problemsolving. Facilitate team collaboration to deliver highquality project outcomes.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain records and documentation related to Process Controls and relevant Departmental Initiatives. Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, project plans, recommendations, and results of project implementation. Provide regular updates to stakeholders on findings.
  • Perform other related functions as assigned. Work is performed in accordance with normal trade practices and is inspected for conformity to standards, quality and quantity by journeylevel employees or supervisor. Attends staff meetings, safety training and meetings
Required Qualifications

  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate._
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field. Experience producing diagrams and schematics using computer aided drafting software. Experience producing professional communication documents using word processing software.

Ability to properly use calibrated test instruments such as multimeters, current loop calibrators, thermal imaging cameras, manometers, and ultrasonic flow meters.

Proficient (3+ years of experience) with Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Visio, Excel), Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, Photoshop), and/or Computer Aided Design software (AutoCAD, Solidworks, ProE).

Experience and/or training in the design, testing, and/or repair of HVAC, Lighting, Electrical, Water, Solar, and/or electric vehicle charging systems

$72,000
