Our team in Aircraft Group is looking for a Receiving/Source Inspector on 1st shift to join them. You will report to the Quality Control Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in Torrance, CA.

To be considered for the Receiving/Source Inspector, here's what you'll need to bring with you**:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent or 20 years or more working as an inspector or machinist in manufacturing with highly skilled at using measuring instruments.
  • Proficient with sine plate, comparators, profilometer and surface plate layout using Micro-Hite.
  • Experience with standard mechanical measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, digital indicators, various gauges, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications Include:

  • Inspection experience in the Aerospace industry
  • Machine shop inspection
  • CMM (coordinate measuring machine) experience
  • Ability to inspect all of the above mentioned dimensions.
  • Ability to read blueprints and the ability to understand and interpret purchase orders and certification requirements and supplier provided data.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills such as

Microsoft Office:
Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint

As a Receiving/Source Inspector, you will:

  • Inspect incoming hardware utilizing TIPQA software inspection plans.
  • Perform multiple mechanical/visual inspections on incoming purchased parts and assemblies, inprocess and finished parts, first article inspections on machined purchased parts inhouse and/or at vendor facilities when required.
  • Work from approved inspection plans, engineering drawings, purchase orders, operation sheets and specifications.
  • Use different precision measuring instruments to verify compliance on dimensions, angles, radii, contours, holes, surface finishes, concentricity, hardness, material and plating.
  • Work involves simple to complex setups on surface plates using height gauge, gauge blocks, sine plates and indicators.
  • Occasional layout of complicated casting, forgings and blanks may be required prior to machining to establish working points.
  • Maintain daily logs and initiate nonconforming documentation for parts not meeting requirements.
  • Record applicable information into Inspection History and other business databases.

Salary Range:

California Residents:
Pay range for this opportunity is $31.28-_ $36 _per hour


The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location.

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
