RTR Financial Services has been in business since 1999 collecting on behalf of hospitals from insurance carriers.
If debt settlement agencies were not in business, patients would be held responsible when an insurance carrier has failed to pay.
In recent years, RTR has expanded its services to include government collections such as parking and camera violations.As we continue to grow, we are serving more hospitals and Physician groups nationwide as well as further expanding our participation in other forms of debt settlement collections.
The Insurance Follow-Up department at RTR is responsible for obtaining the status of hospital/physician's bills (claims) that are sent to Insurance Companies.
As a Follow-up representative, the employee is expected to retrieve information from the Insurance company both via online portals and via direct calls to the carrier office/s.
The employee will be responsible for understanding, based on that information, why claims have been denied and finding the best action to rectify the issue at hand.
Attention to detail and trends are important, as is the ability to communicate said knowledge to upper management when requested.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Typing speed of approximately 40 words per minute.
- Moderate computer knowledge, including the ability to learn and navigate new systems and programs.
- Ability to write clear and concise notes.
- Willingness to participate and to be flexible with changing priorities and projects.
- Ability to read and understand previous notes on an account to take the accurate next step toward resolution.
- Time management skills and a "team player" mentality.
- Detailed understanding of medical billing terminology and processes.
- Familiarity with payer portals and denials.
- Fluency in telephone communication with carrier representatives.
- Actively participates in team huddles.
Expectations:
- We require that you have your own computer/laptop, headset, and sufficient internet speed (Chromebooks are NOT compatible). (Please note that if your determined internet speed and equipment is not efficient, we will not be able to continue with the interview process).
- Internet speed must be a minimum of 50 MBPs.
- Computer/laptop requires at least 8GB of RAM.
- Upon completion of the1 week indepth training, employees are expected to complete 20 accounts per day with an accuracy rate of 75%. After 10 weeks of employment, employees are expected to complete 40 accounts per day with an accuracy rate of 85%.
Benefits:
- After 90 days of employment, benefits will include:

- Paid Time Off (PTO) is accrued weekly, with a maximum of sixteen days per full calendar year.
- Employee will be auto enrolled into RTR's 401K plan at a starting 3%. RTR matches a quarter of every dollar for up to 4% of investment. Opting out is available.
- RTR auto enrolls each employee in UNUM group benefit life insurance for $10,000 at no cost to the employee. There is an option for additional supplemental life insurance at the employee's cost.
