The Eagle Valley Transit Authority (EVTA) Operations Supervisor

The Operations Supervisor oversees daily fixed-route operations with a focus on maintaining consistent operational standards, enforcing operational protocols and supporting operational staff. Supervises Road Supervisors and the Dispatch Team. Serves as the primary manger on duty on nights and weekends. Assists the Operations Manager and Road Supervisors with distribution of Operations workloads and provides backup coverage for Operations Manager, Road Supervisors, and Dispatchers when necessary.

Driving the Future Forward with EVTA

The EVTA was formed by a vote of the registered electors of the Town of Avon, Town of Eagle, Town of Minturn, Town of Red Cliff, Town of Vail, Beaver Creek Metropolitan District, and Eagle County in the November 8, 2022. The EVTA will assume operation of the existing county-operated ECO Transit system; enhance coordination with local transit systems in Vail, Avon, and Beaver Creek; improve air service; and expand and increase transportation offerings throughout the EVTA service area. The EVTA is governed by an appointed 7-member Board of Directors ("Board").

Salary Range for this position is $84,694 - $122,806. Final offer and placement within the salary range will be commensurate with experience. Requirements:

Knowledge of transit system operating rules, regulations, and routes
Knowledge of safety practices and procedures related to transit vehicle operation and public safety.
Ability to maintain a valid CDL license including understanding the Rules and regulations related to obtaining and maintaining a CDL license and ability to pass required drug and alcohol test and medical screening per federal and state regulations and guidelines.
Ability to track, control, and report on expenses following established procedures.
Ability to express ideas and information clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to the audience both verbally and in writing.?
Ability to take initiative, reason logically, and be creative in developing and introducing new ideas.
Willing to accept diversity and differences and ability to establish and maintain respectful, professional relationships with clients from a?diverse population, community partners, staff, and management.

Ability to handle sensitive information and situations with professionalism and decorum.

Education and Experience Required:

Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in public transportation.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
Certification from relevant professional associations (e.g., CTAA, APTA) is a plus.

Preferred:

Bilingual Spanish Speaking a plus
Previous supervisory experience.
