    The

    Director of Market Development

    is responsible for

    optimizing

    New Energy's development efforts

    in several state solar markets

    and managing

    projects throughout the development process

    The candidate selected for this position will

    coordinate

    with the policy, interconnection,

    engineering,

    land

    The selected candidate will

    manage

    ~3-5

    state solar

    markets simultaneously:

    some of which the candidate will offer existing

    expertise

    in, while other

    s

    may be new to the candidate.

    This position will be a hybrid/remote flexible work arrangement.

    A Hybrid work arrangement means the employee's position will be a blend of work performed both in-person and at an offsite location such as an employee's home office.

    . This position may be based out of New Energy Equity's offices in

    Annapolis, MD;

    Roseville, MN; Horseheads, NY; or Boulder, CO.

    Job Duties include the following:

    Responsible for all

    responsible market

    solar development

    program efforts, timelines,

    submissions

    and acquisitions

    Monitor and push for

    advantageous

    solar development policy in responsible markets

    Organize new market entry effort

    through coordinating Policy, Land and Legal teams

    Build relationships and make business agreements with in-state development partners, local SEIA chapters, and Coalition for Community Solar Access contacts (often requires travel) in

    responsible

    markets

    Actively

    m

    onitor

    competitive landscape

    for and pursue

    acquisition opportunities

    , continuing

    as deal lead for acquisition of projects

    Lead weekly internal

    state-level development team calls

    to direct market participation strategy

    and

    determine

    optimal

    timing to move projects through the development pipeline

    Ensure projects

    comply with

    program development timelines

    , interconnection standards and

    state program/local permitting requirements

    Manag

    e

    submission of

    applications (

    e.g.

    licensing

    /

    registration,

    FP submission,

    grants

    , partnerships

    Education

    :


    MBA
    , Law,

    or

    Master's

    degree AND four years or more of relevant experience.

    Bachelor's degree AND

    experience.


    OR
    High School diploma or equivalent AND ten years or more of

    Required Experience:

    Demonstrated

    expertise

    in at least

    2

    active community solar/distributed generation markets

    Experience negotiating contracts and agreements with partners

    Strong attention to detail

    Proficiency

    with Microsoft Suite (required) MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce

    (preferred)

    Preferences:

    Demonstrated

    expertise

    in

    3+

    active community solar/distributed generation markets

    In-depth understanding of the renewable energy landscape

    Deep familiarity with land acquisition strategies and

    land owner

    negotiations

    Deep familiarity with local permitting and

    distribution-level

    interconnection procedures

    Deep familiarity with project financial models

    Demonstrated experience successfully leading teams

    Demonstrated experience leading community solar/distributed generation market creation

    Demonstrated experience leading successful project transactions

    Demonstrated experience

    leading

    solar projects from

    inception

    to closing
