Description
We are looking for a well organized, enthusiastic front desk receptionist in a medium volume Chiropractic office to manage our front desk on a daily basis and to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks.
As a experienced receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our office. You should be able to manage multiple people/tasks in a timely and effective manner, while streamlining office operations. Multitasking, management skills, compassion and a desire to help others are essential for this position. Medical knowledge a plus but not necessary. Hours are Monday thru Friday 9-6:30 with half days on Thursday's.Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests as soon as they arrive at the office
- Schedule, reschedule and cancel appointments
- Answer and forward incoming phone calls
- Perform data entry
- Collect copays and payments
- Take patient demographics and insurance information
- Assist visitors in filling out forms if necessary
- Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and insurance information.
- Obtain external medical reports
- Schedule tests, scans for patients
- Help ensure that patients and visitors are educated on the clinical procedures and policies
- Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms and brochures)
- Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing and faxing
- Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries
- Direct visitors to the appropriate person and office
- Keep inventory of stock weekly
- Maintain and manage patient records
- Send out medical records within the required time frame
Requirements:
- 1+ years experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills
- Reliable transportation
- Working knowledge of healthcare insurance
- Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and diagnosis
- Handson experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers)
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
- Excellent organizational skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Multitasking and timemanagement skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Customer service attitude
- Understand HIPAA and OSHA Regulations
- High School Diploma required: Medical Certification (e.g. PMA, CMA, RMA, RN exc...) preferred
Pay:
$ $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 34 per week
