The Teen Center Coordinator is a full time 40-hour per week position, Monday - Thursday, (Fridays off) from 9:00am -7:00pm


In this role you will develop and facilitate inclusive programs that enhance underserved students' academic, social-emotional, education, and career development in grades 9-12.

By exposing students to stimulating projects, programs, activities, and new ideas, and by facilitating important connections with people in the community, the Teen Center Coordinator empowers our students to education and career success.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Create a welcoming and safe afterschool environment that engages teens socially, culturally, and intellectually
  • Supervise and support staff and volunteers, and assist in classroom management during the programs as needed
  • Engage and promote teen recruitment through innovation and flexible networking in local high schools and social media
  • Build positive, supportive partnerships with teachers, schools, community organizations, and the Latino community at large
  • Plan and coordinate regular parent engagement through phone calls, inperson meetings, and/or other family events
  • Sustain and develop relevant programming for LEAP students' based on their education and/or career plans
  • Assist Teen Center Associate in creating activities and curricula that include academic enrichment, SEL, postsecondary and career readiness and/or development of social capital. Activities and curricula would include topics such as STEM, English Literacy, Art, Social Justice, Life skills, etc
  • Manage recordkeeping and data collection related to the Teen Center including petty cash, program expenses and attendance
  • Plan and coordinate offsite events including field trips, and tours of high school or college campuses, etc.
  • During the summer support teens in a career mentoring program.

SKILL REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Requires one three years of experience in a relevant position
  • One (1) year of demonstrated supervisory experience
  • Must have access to a car and a current driver's license for days when business travel is required
  • Required computer skills include: Basic data entry, simple formatting of documents and creating basic templates, familiarity with Google Suite, SalesForce (or similar database product), andCanva (or similar graphic design product) preferred
  • Ability to speak and communicate in Spanish and English, preferred
  • Must be willing to work very few instances of Fridays, weekends, or evenings for special events or activities
