Patient Care Representative - Columbia, United States - Gladstone Psych & Wellness
Description
EssentialResponsibilities:
- Ensure front desk operations are open and available on time for patients and providers
- Greet all patients and guest in a courteous and welcoming manner
- Ensure proper verification of insurance and demographic information
- Collect both copay and / or selfpay balances
- Collaborate with Clinicians of the practice
- Ensure documentation is entered and maintained in the EMR
- Schedule follow up appointments
- Send out appointment reminders
- Ensure to complete all required workflows daily
- Must collaborate with Call Center and Revenue departments
- Notify patients and Clinicians of service delays
- Must maintain multiple spreadsheets and multiple workflows
- Collect, open and distribute mail and packages
- Other duties as assigned
- Excellent Customer service, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a high paced environment
- Ability to make decisions
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite and related products
- Flexibility
- Knowledge and understanding of the use of Electronic Medical Records systems.
- Highschool diploma, certificate or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year Medical Office experience is preferred.
- Minimum 1 year face to face Customer service experience
- Medical terminology is preferred but not required
- Proven track record of customer satisfaction
- Mental health / Psychiatric experience is preferred but not required
