- Develop and teach a range of undergraduate and graduate courses in Biology, including but not limited to Wildlife and Fisheries, Introductory Biology, Ecology, and advanced courses in Vertebrate Zoology and Mammalogy or Ichthyology
- Establish an active wildlife research program which provides training and applied and/or basic research experiences for undergraduate and graduate students
- Seek and obtain extramural funding to support research efforts
- Direct and mentor graduate students in theses and research projects
- Maintain appropriate service to the department, college and university, including service on departmental, college and university committees, assisting with the departmental recruitment and retention efforts, and advising undergraduate students
- Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Job Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Biology or closely related field; ABD will be considered
- Expertise in wildlife biology, conservation, terrestrial mammalogy, or fisheries science
- The ability to teach biology to students at all degree levels Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Commitment to excellence in teaching and willingness to teach using traditional, hybrid or online distance education technologies
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Position Summary: Eastern New Mexico University's (ENMU) Department of Biology invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Biology to begin Fall 2024. ENMU seeks candidates with expertise in Wildlife Biology or related fields. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and the ability to establish a research program that engages students in applied and/or basic research. This is a residential appointment and campus presence is required.
