If so, then you'll be glad to know that the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) within Wisconsin's Department of Workforce Development (DWD) is currently seeking applicants to fill a Communications & Policy Advisor (Program & Policy Analyst-Advanced) position.

This position is headquartered at our downtown Madison location (201 E. Washington Ave.).

Our office is located near a wide variety of restaurants and food carts, live music and events, the farmer's market, B-cycle rentals, lakefront parks, the Capital City bike path, and multiple bus routes.

This position requires occasional in-state travel, including some overnights.

Position Summary:


Under the general supervision of the Administrator of the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, the incumbent serves as a key advisor for program and policy initiatives that have substantial impact to the communication with staff, partners and stakeholders of the division and those it serves.

The incumbent manages key studies and projects and analyzes factors such as project and policy decisions affecting implementation of Division of Vocational Rehabilitation initiatives, programs, communications, and operations.

The incumbent provides management level liaison functions involving highly complex interactions and involvement with administrators, program managers, and other high-level officials in government.

The incumbent exercises significant discretion and independent judgement in the researching of, analysis of, and formulation of policy and program and communication recommendations and their implementation.

Salary Information:

Starting salary is between $68,640 - $81,120 annually, depending on qualifications and experience, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period will be required.

The classification title for this position is Program & Policy Analyst-Advanced (schedule 07, range 03). These positions are not represented in a collective bargaining unit and are exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Pay will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan in effect at the time of appointment. Starting pay may vary for current state employees.

Eligibility to work in United States: applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a US citizen or national or a lawful permanent resident) at the time of appointment. DWD does not sponsor visas and is not an eligible OPT employer for those with F1 visas. This is not a contract position. Any appointment made will be contingent on the applicant being able to prove valid status to work in the United States.
