Electrical Drafter - Houston, United States - IECus Solutions

Description

This position requires the use of computer-aided design (CAD) software to generate technical drawings that include assembly layouts and electrical schematics as designed by engineering or the customer.

• Develop or modify design plans, assembly layouts and schematics using field notes/sketches, engineering drawings and customerprovided CAD files.
• Ensure that the design and drafting details are accurate and clearly conveyed on drawings such as dimensions, materials and procedures.
• Ensure that the designs meet the drafting standards and fundamental practices pertaining to electrical design.
• Create parts lists and production documents for assembly within the material handling and production planning system.
• Provide production support to the machining area, the assembly area and the quality control area.
• Update and generate "asbuilt" prints for products and systems upon project completion.
• Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by the supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

• Experience working with motors, pumps and/or controls.
• AutoCAD Electrical as well as experience making blocks (dynamic).
• Associate's Degree in Computer-Aided Design or Engineering Technology from an accredited institution preferred.
• Proven experience working in engineering design and drafting environment.
• Sound knowledge of CAD software theory and techniques, printers and plotters.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to work with a team of both Technical and Sales resources.
• Ability to read and understand assembly layouts and electrical schematics.
• Detail oriented and result driven.
• Proven project management and time management ability.
