GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:


Responsible for directing all daily activities of the Shipping Operations including labor scheduling, customer order fulfillment, woodshop custom packaging, supervising and coaching to achieve daily goals and customer satisfaction while ensuring all safety programs, inventory / quality expectations, and service levels are being met.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Plan and schedule daily workloads using Progress Control Boards
  • Understand barcode scanning system processes and requirements to provide support/direction and training as needed.
  • Validate Data, record data and manage Team performance using DPR (Daily Performance Tool).
  • Monitor and Review individual job performance and coach as needed.
  • Insure Inventory and Quality Control Standards and Practices are being followed and meet expectations as they relate to customer order fulfillment.
  • Responsible to help maintain cleanliness and 5S standards within the operation and continue to help develop the 5S program in the areas
  • Participate in budget preparation and capex projects
  • Work with Projects/Maintenance Supervisor on upcoming projects as needed
  • Responsible for assisting with taking inventory during monthly purchasing of all warehouse supplies in the department
  • Monitoring of safety program, safety training & recordkeeping
  • Report quality and performance KPIs & practice root cause investigation and prevention of new occurrences to reduce errors in the department.
  • Oversee Export Program / weekly air shipments / monthly ocean shipments / sensitive documentation is managed and filed appropriately.
  • Responsible for carpentry custom packaging and ensuring safe practices are being followed to prevent injuries
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as part of the job function while using safe lifting requirements
  • Must be willing to be crosstrained in other areas in the warehouse as needed
  • Must perform within the Company Safety Program and Policies

EXPERIENCE:


  • Previous experience with a Barcode Scanning System/handheld preferred
  • Previous experience using an ERP system a must
  • Proficient in data entry, typing & number pad a must
  • Forklift Certification preferred (order picker, reach truck) must be able to pass the forklift certification test

EXPERTISE:


  • Must be a selfstarter, motivated and focused to work independently within the established perimeters assigned.
  • Must have solid communication and coaching skills
  • Computer skills are a must, google suite, reporting, data entry
  • Must be able to work with others and focus on team empowerment
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills is a must
  • Learn Lean Philosophy within the organization to focus on and participate in Continuous Improvement & Learning to improve processes, efficiencies and increased profitability

EDUCATION:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or 3 to 5 years of experience in shipping operations with a focus on lean management.
