Job Summary:


In this role, the IT Support Technician provides onsite and remote end-user support related to Information Technology hardware, software, and access.

The team member performs all tasks in compliance with company safety rules as well as all IT policies and procedures and prioritizes the success of all company team members and our customers.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Communication

  • Provide inperson and remote support with company team members and external parties.
  • Provides assistance, advice and training to company team members in the effective use of hardware, software, and Information Technology.
  • Protect the organization's brand and value by keeping information confidential.
  • Stay current on technology trends and communicate these trends with the team.
  • Collaborate with the IT Infrastructure Manager and IT Systems Administrators, providing updates and seeking direction as needed.
  • Provide regular status reports on tasks accomplished, current issues, and progress toward goals.

Technical

  • Manage desktop support issues, as well as support for various devices.
  • Perform installations, moves, configuration, and decommissioning of IT equipment.
Maintain a detailed inventory of purchased hardware and software, and track software installed on PCs/servers to ensure licensing compliance.

  • Maintain and support Active Directory accounts.
  • Perform general Windows server and workstation administration.
  • Proactively protect IT Infrastructure against potential security vulnerabilities and threats.
  • Ensure the stable operation of the computer network including installation, configuration, support, and optimization of all IT hardware, software, and communication links.
  • Although this role is performed primarily within normal business hours, restoring from offhour failures, performing installs/upgrades, addressing compliance violations and security breaches may require work outside of normal hours and may require effort beyond normal weekly hours for the duration of the situation.

Relational

  • Successfully manage tasks utilizing best practices to meet deadlines.
  • Research and identify opportunities that can improve efficiency of IT processes.
  • Consult with company team members to remedy issues between operating procedures and technology.
  • Work closely with other members of Information Technology department to assist with project implementations and other tasks as requested.
  • Participate in oncall coverage or emergency response as needed.
  • Willingness to work outside of normal business hours when needed to provide emergency response or to meet critical project deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:


  • 13 years of relevant experience or equivalent education/certification required
  • Experience with PC hardware, printers, Windows operating systems, and software support.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • IT Associates/Bachelor degree preferred but not required.
  • Working knowledge with Microsoft Office products including Office 36
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IPv4, subnets a plus.
  • Exposure to current Windows Server operating systems and VMware a plus.
  • Strong capability to manage through influence and across functions

Travel Requirements:


  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time

Physical and Mental Requirements:

Medium - exerting up to 50lb/22kg of force occasionally and/or up to 20lbs/9kg of force frequently, and/or up to 10lbs/4kgs of force constantly to move objects.
