Description
The Radiological Technologist provides patient services using imaging modalities; assists the Radiologists and physicians efficiently, and is able to perform all routine clerical and support functions, as well as being able to use all radiology equipment to assist with diagnostic procedures_.
_- Correctly identifies each patient and reviews each patient's requisition either hard copy or in computer system, for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis and all demographic information.
- Completes all necessary history concerning patient exam, including pregnancy and allergy information as stated in the department policy and procedure manual.
- Assesses patient condition, moves, assists, and immobilizes patients as needed to assure patient safety, comfort, and modesty.
- Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examination to appropriate supervisor, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
- Uses proper shielding and radiation protection in accordance with the departmental Radiation Protection program.
- Takes into account patient age and physical condition, using exposure charts to assure proper exposure.
- Monitors patient condition during their stay in the department, before and after examination, and when contrast media is administered.
- Assures that all diagnostic xray equipment is utilized properly and proficiently in accordance with manufactures guidelines and departmental procedures.
- Reports equipment failures to supervisor and annotates problem on the equipment log.
- Uses computer system in document correctly and accurately patient information, regarding scheduling and entering orders into the hospital information system and Radiology Information System.
- Manages images through modalityCR/DR-RISPACS and performs all established quality checks.
- Accepts and completes assignments as directed by the department Director.
- Follows work schedule, rotations, and call assignment and weekend/holiday rotations as required.
- Cross train into other modalities as assigned_. _
Required:
Graduate of accredited R.T. program
Preferred:
Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology
Required:
Clinical Rotation with Radiology Program, will accept new graduates.
Preferred:
One to three years experience as a Rad Tech, with training in general xray, orthopaedic imaging
Must have current NH Board of Medical Imaging licensure.

Part Time, Rotating, day with weekend rotation
